Dr. Kate Mahood

Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Health Coach

Ms. Mahood earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. She holds a Masters of Oriental Medicine degree from Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), formerly Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts (including a Master of Acupuncture degree and Graduate Chinese Herbal Certificate) and is a Maryland State Licensed Acupuncturist. She is also a graduate of MUIH’s Health Coaching Certification Program. 

Prior to studying East Asian Medicine, Kate worked as a land conservationist and architectural historian, providing consulting services to professional engineers, architects, governmental and non-profit agencies throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. She holds a Masters from the University of Virginia School of Architecture. She had over 18 years of administrative and managerial experience before beginning her formal studies at Tai Sophia in 2006.

A long- term student of Asian art and design, including Feng Shui, Kate finds her fields of endeavor dramatically inform each other on a daily basis. She is an experienced teacher and guest lecturer in her areas of expertise. She adores being present with clients in the treatment room as they observe, change, stabilize, restore and renew the inner and outer landscapes of their lives and their environments.  

Since 2012, Kate has also served as "Chief Compassion Officer" of  Wellsview Cottage: Center for Holistic and Integrative Health, located in Annapolis, Maryland. She is thankful for the colleagues and clients that practice with her at Wellsview Cottage Center.
